Run the Pandiaspora link on your desktop. [Desktop link doesn't install on Windows 7, run: c:\Program Files (x86)\pds\pds.exe instead] ALTERNATIVE INSTALLATION: Copy all the files from \bin\ on the CD to a hard disk. You should ensure that OpenGL and DirectX are installed. Run pds.exe GAMEPLAY: The objective is to destory the enemy HQ without losing your own HQ. This is acomplished by capturing nodes. A node or HQ can only be attacked if there is a path from that node to the friendly HQ. Capturing nodes also provides 'flux', which can be used to build more units. Your HQ automatically builds units if there is more flux than units. You can change the type of ship your HQ builds by pressing 'b'. Nodes are displayed as cylinders, HQs as double height cylinders and ships as cones. Each node or ship has a particular 'field type'. This is indicated by the colour of the apex of the ship or by the wireframe around the node. The field type controls what types of terrain the ship can cross as well as how it takes damage. Ships are used to capture nodes and attack other ships. Each ship has weapons pods, that are attached to the base of the cone. The size of the weapons pod indicates how much dammage the ship can do to objects that are the same colour as the pod. F1 brings up a detailed list of key bindings.
